A long word for “hostel,” but that’s because it is a compound word. Broken down, we have “farfugl” (migratory bird) and “heimili” (home). So all together, a hostel is representative of a migratory bird’s home. Yet again, Icelandic had found a way to astound me with the poetic nature of its compounds.
